Eight Best Scores:

What is WAGL’s Goal Here?
To identify the best putter among our ranks and bestow honors upon such person that bespeak his brilliance (including $50).

What does this Cost me? Nothing.

I’m with you so far, so How do I Play?
The commish will set up a Challenge Putt on the practice green each week. He will choose a hole at which to aim and a marker from which to putt. This distance will normally be around the 30+ foot range.

You will have three putt attempts at the shot. For each putt that you sink, you will score Five points, for a maximum of 15 points and pretty damn good putting. You will score progressively more points for shots that land close to the hole:

Within 3 feet = 1 point
Within 2 feet = 2 points
Within 1 foot = 3 points

Made Putt= 5 points

Add the points from all three shots and write that total on the Summary Slip that is submitted at the end of each round.

How do we measure these close putts?
This competition has necessitated the invention of a tool proclaimed to be known as the WAGL Wicket. This precision-made measuring device is made of wood that has been hewn from the finest Redwood Trees in the world. A Swiss craftsman calibrated the markings on the Wicket with the greatest of care and accuracy, and the colorful paint and decorations were handcrafted by a struggling artist in the Sonora Mountains. It’s use will be evident upon your first measurement.

There are Rules, aren’t there?
You bet. But, as if rules mean anything to this group!

The Challenge Putt can only be attempted prior to play, barring the most extreme circumstances as judged as plausible by the Commish.

There must be at least one witness to all three of your attempts.

You cannot practice the putt or any putt similar to the Challenge Putt.

Are you Late? No witnesses?
Score for the day is zero.
